Hope International University announces Timmermans Leads Royals At GSAC Championships

Women's Day 1 GSAC Championships 
3 Lady Royals Qualify For the Finals 
Emma Timmermans, Arlene Magana, and Ash Carabes all qualified for the Finals in the 1500m by finishing in the Top 12. Emma cruised in with a 6th place finish, Arlene and Ash finished in 10th and 11th place. All three have the potential to score and run Personal Records tomorrow in the Finals. 
The only Final today for the Lady Royals was the 10,000m which Aurora Couto ran. Aurora battled for 25 laps to run 43:25.54 to finish in 12th place. That time was the #4 time in school history.  
 
Prelims 
Brianna Clovery – 14.03(#4 All-Time) in the 100m in 14th place out of 17; 29.38 in the 200m in 19th place out of 24 
Rayanne Dietrich – 27.67 in the 200m in 13th place out of 24; 65.63 in the 400m in 13th place out of 19 
Qualifiers 
Emma Timmermans – 5:20.50 in the 1500m in 6th place out of 16 
Arlene Magana – 5:25.96 in the 1500m in 10th place out of 16 
Ash Carabes – 5:30.45 in the 1500m in 11th place out of 16 
Finals 
Aurora Couto – 43:25.54(#4 All-Time) in the 10,000m in 12th place out of 14 
 
Women's Day 2 GSAC Championships 
Timmermans gets 3rd and 6th at GSAC Championships 
Sophomore Emma Timmermans started the day off with a 6th place finish in the 1500m followed a few hours later with a 3rd place finish in the 5,000m. Emma was our top scorer at the Championships scoring 9 points for the team. 

Finals 
Emma Timmermans – 4:49.55(#3 All-Time) in the 1500m in 6th place (3 points); 18:51.55(#6 All-Time) in the 5,000m in 3rd place (6 points) 
Arlene Magana – 5:11.11(P.R.) in the 1500m in 10th place; 20:23.95 in the 5,000m in 14th place out of 19 
Ash Carabes – 5:12.00(P.R.) in the 1500m in 11th place; 19:58.40 in the 5,000m in 13th place out of 19 
Aurora Couto – 20:46.73 in the 5,000m in 16th place out of 19 
 
Emma Timmermans will continue her season next at the Oxy Invite on May 6th, followed by the NAIA National Championships on May 25th.
