Hope International University announces Royals Break One School Record and Set Six New Personal Records at Pomona Pitzer Invite

The Hope International women's outdoor track and field team continued their season with strong performances at the Pomona-Pitzer Invite in Claremont, CA on Saturday, April 8.

 

Emma Timmermans broke her own school record again in the 1500m with a time of 4:42.59 finishing in 7th place in her heat. Timmermans improved her time by over 4 seconds.  With Timmermans' time she now has the #2 fastest time in the GSAC and #16 fastest time in the NAIA.  

 

All the rest of the Lady Royals that competed at the Pomona-Pitzer Invite ran at least 1 new Personal Record (PR).  

Rayanne Dietrich - 26.99 in 200m - 1st place in heat and Personal Record(PR); 62.68 in 400m - 4th place in heat and PR 

Emma Timmermans - 2:24.23 in 800m - 6th place in heat; 4:42.59 in 1500m - 7th place in heat PR

Arlene Magana - 19:29.51 in 5000m - 17th place and PR

Ash Carabes - 19:49.18 in 5000m - 22nd place and Season Record (SR)

Aurora Couto - 19:53.96 in 5000m - 24th place and PR

The Track & Field team competed next on April 14 & 15 at the Beach Invitational at Long Beach State.
