Hope International University announces Ochieng Breaks Long Jump School Record

The Hope International University men's track and field team continued their season with a strong performance at the Beach Invitational from April 14-15 in Long Beach, CA.

Teddy Ochieng tried a new event at the Beach Invitational, the long jump. Ochieng jumped to a new school record with his first jump with a mark of 22' 1¾"(6.75m). That jump placed him 3rd in his flight. Adrian Smith also jumped to a distance of 16' 8"(5.08m) for 8th place.  
 
Marcus Abendanio ran 12.08 in the 100m and 25.77 in the 200m 
Teddy Ochieng also ran 23.37 in the 200m and 51.83 in the 400m 
Diego Pineda ran 2:04.09 in the 800m and 4:15.96 in the 1500m 
Ricardo Cruz ran 4:05.18 in the 1500m and 15:39.89 in the 5000m 
Luis Diaz ran 4:19.14 in the 1500m and 16:29.13 in the 5000m 
Morgan Faunce ran 16:38.25 in the 5000m  
Michael Ventura ran 57.26 in the 400m Hurdles 
The men's team ran 45.54 in the 4 x 100m Relay for 3rd place in their heat and 3:40.07 in the 4 x 400m Relay for 7th place overall. 
 
The Men's Track & Field team competes next at the GSAC Championships hosted by Westmont College held on April 27-28.
