Winona State University announces NSIC Weekend : Warrior Baseball
WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University baseball team has a full plate this weekend, as the Warriors host the University of Sioux Falls in the final three-game series of the 2023 NSIC baseball regular season.
Winona State will honor Warriors past and present as head coach Seth Wing and his staff recognize the 2023 WSU senior class. In addition, past Warrior teams and baseball alums will be honored over the two days in multiple ceremonies in the cozy confines of Loughrey Field.
On the field, Winona State will look to book their ticket to the NSIC postseason, while the Cougars have already been eliminated from playoff contention and can only play the role of spoiler over the weekend. Fans, families, and followers are encouraged to follow the Winona State Baseball and WSU Athletics social media feeds for timely updates on potential schedule changes due to weather.
The Warriors have won two of the last three meetings between the two teams and the squads split last year's doubleheader in Winona, with WSU defeating USF 5-4 in the opener but falling 5-1 in the nightcap.
