University of Wisconsin announces Four Rangers Headline Softball Postseason GLIAC Awards

BAY CITY, Mich. --- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (GLIAC) announced the 2023 postseason awards on Friday afternoon. Parkside softball had four student-athletes honored, including one on the first team, one on the second team and two honorable mentions.

Mia Johnson was a first team All-GLIAC honoree, following her big contributions to the Rangers this season. Johnson hit five homeruns on the season, which was seventh most in the GLIAC. More impressively, she committed just two errors defensively this season on 111 total chances.

Cassie Rutledge was named to the Second Team All-GLIAC. The senior outfielder led the Rangers this season offensively, hitting .323 with a team high six homeruns and ten doubles. Rutledge also led the rangers with nine stolen bases and 25 runs scored.

Kiley Akey was named Honorable Mention All-GLIAC. The senior was the top pitcher for the Rangers this year, picking up nine wins inside the circle while amassing 15 complete games and 122 innings pitched with a 4.30 ERA. At the Plate Akey recorded nine doubles and ten driven.

Jadynn Powell was named Honorable Mention All-GLIAC. The senior led the Rangers with 25 RBI's this season while hitting .294. She had 11 extra base hits on the season, including seven doubles.
