University of Rhode Island announces Rhody in Fourth After New Englands Day One
DEDHAM, MASS. — After the first day of the New England Outdoor Championship, Rhode Island women's track and field is in fourth place after collecting 22 team points.
Champions
- Xiana Twombly won the long jump with a leap of 5.77 meters.
Highlights From Competition
- Twombly qualified for the 200 meter final after finished sixth in the prelims in 25.00 seconds.
- Bethany DeLoof advanced to the 400 meter final after her qualifying time of 55.06 seconds placed her second in the prelim.
- Daniella Napoli was 29th in the 5000 meters in 19:03.41.
- Molly Sabia placed second in the 10000 meters with a time of 36:30.80.
- Erynn Field was fifth in the hammer (56.13m) and Megan Wood was 16th (47.64m).
- Katie Welsh was 11th in the pole vault after clearing 3.60 meters, and Caroline Larkin cleared 3.30 meters for 20th place.
