University of Rhode Island announces Rams On Top After New Englands Day One
DEDHAM, MASS. — Rhode Island men's track and field sits in first place after the first day of the New England Outdoor Championsihip. The Rams have collected 42 teams points after seven events scored.
In the Decathlon
- Devin Donahue sits third in the decathlon with 3392 points.
Champions
- Mason Brubaker won the pole vault after clearing 5.15 meters.
Highlights From Competition
- Kai Schmidt-Bilowith qualified for the 110m hurdles in 14.58 seconds.
- Both Jolon O'Connor (21.94s) and Kyle Paterson (22.16s) qualified for the 200 meter finals, finishing seventh and eighth in the prelim.
- Ben Fleischer placed third in the 5000m in 14:16.92.
- Alexander Baez was sixth in the hammer marking 59.50 meters.
- In the high jump, Ryan Tona was fourth (2.05m) and Matt Santy was sixth (2.00m).
- Adam Dubois placed second in the javelin (69.21m) and Seth Cordeiro finished third (65.01m).
