KINGSTON, R.I. -- Rhode Island women's track & field grad students Bethany DeLoof and Trinity Smith were both named to the Atlantic 10 Outdoor All-Academic Teams while freshman Lily Saul earned All-Rookie honors, the league announced Tuesday.

DeLoof and Smith both most recently competed at NCAA Northeast Regionals. DeLoof, competing in the 400 meters, finished 44th with a time if 55.73 seconds. An A-10 Outdoor Champion in the 400 meters, DeLoof was also crowned champion at the New England Outdoor Championship to help the Rams to their sixth New England outdoor title. A 3.91 GPA, DeLoof set the school record in the 400 meters this season, clocking in at 53.39 seconds to take home her A-10 gold medal.

Smith wrapped up her Rhody career at the NCAA Regional finishing 36th in the 100 meter hurdles in 13.588 seconds. A two-time Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track Performer of the Week this season, Smith set a meet, facility, and program record time of 13.40 seconds en route to her A-10 100-meter hurdle crown at Outdoors this year. Smith broke her own record twice in as many weeks during the outdoor season, and owned a GPA of 4.00.

The All-Rookie team is compromised of the top-rookie performer in each event from meets conducted from the start of the outdoor regular season through the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championship. The team was selected based off meet results submitted through the Track & Field Results Reporting System (TFFRS).

Saul made her appearance on the second straight All-Rookie Team, after earning a spot on the Indoor All-Rookie Team earlier this season. Her finish in the 800 meters was the top among Rookie performers this season (2:09.00).
