EUGENE, Ore. – Alysah Hickey re-set her own school record in the long jump Friday evening at the Don Kirby Invitational in Albuquerque. The performance was one of four top-10 program marks for the 10th-ranked Women of Oregon on the first day of a busy weekend that features competition at three meets around the country.

Between the Don Kirby meet, BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston and Husky Classic in Seattle, the UO men and women combined for an additional seven lifetime bests Friday.

Hickey took down her own school record in the long jump with a NCAA-leading 6.79m/22-3.5 measure in the opening round. In addition to taking over the national lead in the event, she moved to No. 3 on the world list this season and No. 11 on the NCAA all-time list. Hickey entered the day with a season best of 6.30m/20-8 at the Texas Tech Open (Jan. 27).

The Coronado, Calif., native first broke the UO record last season with a jump of 6.66m/21-10.25 at the 2022 Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville.

In the Ducks' final track event of the night, Jadyn Mays dipped below 23 seconds indoors for the first time with a victorious 22.86 to become the fifth-fastest woman in program history. She came into the meet with a best of 23.04 from two weeks ago. With the conversion for altitude, Mays' time adjust to 22.93 in NCAA qualifying and sits sixth in the nation based on times entering the weekend.
