University of Nevada-Reno announces Senini and Jenkins earn All-Conference honors

RENO, Nev. - Nevada softball players Chelie Senini and Aaliyah Jenkins received All-Mountain West honors voted by the league's coaches.

The announcement made by the Mountain West Conference on Wednesday has junior Senini honored with All-Conference First Team and Jenkins in the Second Team after a successful regular season for both players. 

Senini finished the regular season with a .338 batting average in 142 at-bats appearances. The Reno native broke her own conference record for stolen bases in a season with 49 after getting on bases with 48 hits, two doubles and five triples. The junior scored 46 runs and registered 13 RBI, 60 total bases with a .423 slugging percentage. 

On defense Senini made 46 putouts and one assist to finish the regular season with a .940 fielding percentage. 

Jenkins continued to be efficient at the play in her second season as a member of the Wolf Pack. The sophomore had a .267 batting average in 145 at-bats appearances. The Hayward, Calif. native scored 32 runs in 40 hits, 12 doubles, one triple, and 10 home runs. Jenkins recorded 48 RBI and 84 total bases to finish the season with a .579 slugging percentage. 

The sophomore also registered 17 stolen bases in 18 attempts. On defense, Jenkins made 135 putouts, with 16 assists, to registered a .974 fielding percentage. 

Nevada softball wrapped up the regular season with a 30-17 record after a win over Colorado State on May 6. The Pack will head to San Diego, Calif., for the Mountain West Championship, May 11-13. First game of the postseason is set for May 11 at 12:30 p.m. against the Rams.
