University of Mount Olive announces Faison earns honor for second time this year

GREENVILLE, S.C. (Jan. 31) – For the second time during the indoor season, senior thrower Joshua Faison was selected as the Conference Carolinas Field Athlete of the Week by the league office on Tuesday.
 
A native of Clayton, North Carolina, Faison registered a second-place finish this past Saturday in the shot put while competing at the VMI Winter Classic. He achieved a distance of 16.58 meters (54-4.75 feet) on his second attempt to finish as the runner-up in the event.
 
Faison continues to hold the top spot in the conference in the shot put while ranking sixth in the weight throw with under three week left before the Conference Carolinas championship.
 
Mount Olive returns to action at the South Carolina Invitational on Feb. 3-4 in Columbia, South Carolina.
