University of Minnesota announces Soloveychik, Nagy Represent Gophers in Thursday Prelims
MINNEAPOLIS – Minnesota swimming had two competitors take part in prelims at the NCAA Championships Thursday at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center in Minneapolis.
Sophomore Bar Soloveychik and junior Chris Nagy both were in the field of the 500 free.
Soloveychik posted his third fastest time of the season, and the eighth fastest time for Minnesota since the 2009-10 campaign, at 4:15.87. That time was good for 24th place Thursday, a little over two seconds out of the 16th spot needed to reach the consolation finals.
Coming in at 4:22.27, Nagy recorded his fourth best time of the season as he placed 43rd.
The action continues Friday for Minnesota at the 2023 NCAA Division I Championships with junior Kaiser Neverman in the 100 Fly, Soloveychik in the 200 free, fifth-year senior Max McHugh in the 100 breast and freshman Drew Bennett on the 3-meter springboard.
In addition, the 400 IM, 100 back and 400 medley relay will also take place Friday.
