ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Hurdler Joshua Zeller of the University of Michigan men's track and field team is set to compete in the 60-meter hurdles at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix on Saturday (Feb. 4) hosted at The TRACK at New Balance in Boston, Mass. The event is one of the premier indoor competitions in the world, with Zeller being one of only a handful of collegians invited to compete.

The New Balance Indoor Grand Prix is a world class competition held by New Balance each year starting in 1996. The event hosts Olympic and world class athletes, with greats like Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Noah Lyles, and Emma Coburn competing this year alone. The TRACK at New Balance is a state-of-the-art facility, featuring a 200-meter hydraulically banked indoor track and 5,000 spectator capacity.

Zeller's accolades make him one of the top hurdlers in the world. In 2022, he placed fifth at the World Athletics Championships, second at the British Championships, and fourth at the Commonwealth Games -- all in the 110-meter hurdles. In 2022, he was the indoor Big Ten champion for the 60-meter hurdles, the outdoor Big Ten champion for the 110-meter hurdles, and the bronze medalist for the 110-meter hurdles at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Zeller currently holds the Big Ten outdoor 110-meter hurdles record at 13.19.

Zeller is currently ranked fifth nationally and first in the Big Ten for the 60-meter hurdles. He holds the school record in the outdoor 110-meter hurdles -- a record he set twice in the 2022 season.

The 2023 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix will be shown live in the United States on NBC and the NBC Sports App on Saturday, Feb. 4, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Zeller is set to compete in the men's 60-meter hurdles preliminaries (heat 2) at 3:52 p.m. Finals will be held at 5:10 p.m.
