KINGS POINT, N.Y. (April 2, 2023) – The USMMA track & field teams recognized its ten senior student-athletes, seven women and three men, in a special ceremony prior to the meet as the program hosted its first ever "142 Meet" inside Brooks Stadium.

 The ladies honored were Skyler BurnhamAnna HerculesSarah LyonKira PorzioSayra RayaVeronica Richards, and Jaqui Sheedy.

 The senior guys were Will Bucher, Alex Roberson, and Andrew Suarez.

Senior Kira Porzio stole the show, breaking her own outdoor Merchant Marine Academy program record and tying for the NCAA Division III's highest bar in the high jump at 1.70m.

 Senior Sayra Raya won the top spot in the 800m, setting a new personal-best time of 2:29.96.

 Katherine Kerchner came away victorious in the 3,000m steeplechase (12:53.25) as well as the 5,000m (20:20.64).

 The final female gold medalist of the day was senior Sarah Lyon, doing so in the 1,500m run (5:17.69) on top of placing fourth with a time of 2:42.69 during the 800m (2:42.69).

 One podium spot was reserved for four Mainers women who took part in the 4x400m relays, claiming the bronze with a speed of 4:47.36.

 Senior Anna Hercules and Stephanie Schatzman capped off the top-five placers for the ladies in the 100 hurdles (20.01) and long jump (4.66m), respectively.

 Senior Skyler Burnham did not make the cut of a top-five allotment, but did set a new PR of 2:48.79 (800m) to earn a spot in this article.

 Regarding the men's team, Isaiah Sims won the "triple crown" of sorts, earning first place in three races; the 100m (11.23), the 200m (22.89 – PR), and the 400m (49.62).

 The guys ran, jumped, and threw with a purpose, collecting gold medals in the 1,500m (Isaac Clark – 4:03.28), 5,000m (Clark – 15:22.20), high jump (Kenneth Harrison – 1.85m), triple jump (Konnor Bye – 12.71m), shot put (Nathan Fields – 12.16m), discus (Fields – 35.12m), javelin (Rhett Robinson – 36.14m), 800m (Silas Glynn – 1:59.87 – PR), and the 4x400m relay quartet ("A" – 3:36.91).

 There were plenty of runner-up finishers as well as Bye logged a 6.40m long jump, Lance Clemons ran a 2:01.33 800m, Luke Zwiesler picked up a pair of silvers with a 4:05.78 1,500m run and a 15:34.06 5,000m run, and Alex Burita crossed the line in a time of 11:15.06 during the 3,000m steeplechase.

 The men wrapped up its medal winners with the duo of Glynn's bronze in the 1,500m (4:13.63) and Ian Taylor's bronze in the 3,000m steeplechase (11:38.83).

 Fourth place slots belonged to senior Will Bucher (800m – 2:05.83), Robinson (discus – 31.85m), and Jason Healey (400m – 54.11).

 Andrew Carty scored himself two fifth place allotments for his 18.73-second 110 hurdles and his 1:11.34 400 hurdles while Casey Symons logged the same position during the 5,000m in a speed of 16:51.60.
