SUWANEE, Ga. – Eight Trinity University student-athletes were selected for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Sportsmanship teams for the spring sports, as announced by the league office.

(Portions of this story were taken from the SCAC release.)

Head coaches from each team were asked to select one member from their team who displayed good sportsmanship throughout the 2023 spring season. There were 62 total SCAC student-athletes to earn the distinction, including the eight Tiger honorees.

In alphabetical order, the Trinity award-winners were: Emery Boettcher (Fredericksburg, Texas / Fredericksburg) from softball, Ella Cummings (Albuquerque, N.M. / Sandia) from women's tennis, Kierra Francois (Angleton, Texas / Angleton) from women's track & field, Tanner Haney (Waco, Texas / Waco) from baseball, Cal Hunter (Lafayette, Calif. / Campolindo) from men's tennis, Pierce Jackson (Addison, Texas / Dallas Jesuit) from men's track & field, Jacob Mason (Westminster, Colo. / Holy Family) from men's golf, and Kate Schulle (Cedar Park, Texas / Cedar Park) from women's golf.

The SCAC began recognizing student-athletes for this award during the 2008-09 academic year, selecting a group of individuals from fall sports, winter sports, and spring sports.

Trinity won its 12th consecutive SCAC Presidents' Trophy this season, which was also the 23rd overall all-sports championship for the Tiger athletics program. Both the consecutive streak and the overall numbers are the most in SCAC history.
