Trinity College announces L'Esperance Clocks In First in 1500m at MIT Final Qualifier
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. —Toby L'Esperance (Florence, Mass.) crossed the finish line first in the 1500m run with a personal best time of 3:51.86 as the Trinity College men's track & field team completed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Final Qualifier on Thursday. The Bantams set their sites on the NCAA Division III Championships on May 25-27 at St. John Fisher College.
The junior clocked in 01.30 seconds faster than second-place finisher Simon Opsahl from MIT. In the 400m dash, Nolan McKenna (Boston, Mass.) garnered second with a time of 49.92, while Kai Bailin (Shrewsbury, Mass.) secured a second-place finish in the 400m hurdles for a career best time of 53.67. For a season best, Terrence Bogan (Wallingford, Conn.) earned fourth for a final time pg 10.95 after a seventh-place qualifying time of 11.02 and Ethan Wilkie(Ellington, Conn.) placed fourth in the shot put with a 15.24m heave. In the 800m, Larson Sippel (Northampton, Mass.) finished eighth with a time of 1:56.06.
