The University of Oklahoma announces Sleeth Earns Big 12 Player of the Week

NORMAN - Oklahoma senior Layne Sleeth was named the Big 12 Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
The Sooners finished their season at home with a Bedlam sweep on Friday night. After going undefeated against the Cowgirls, Sleeth earned the honor with two victories on the day.
The Markham, Ontario, product kicked off the match by clinching the doubles point with partner Alexandra Pisareva on court two over Sofia Rojas and Lucia Peyre, 6-4. She then met No. 102 Alana Wolfberg at the top court and extended OU's lead to 3-0 with a 6-2, 6-2 victory.
This is Sleeth's second career Big 12 Player of the Week honor and first this season. The accolade is OU's third of 2023.
Sleeth and the Sooners wrap up the regular season in Kansas for a weekend on the road against Kansas State on Friday, April 14 at 5 p.m. CT and Kansas on Sunday, April 16 at 12 p.m. CT.
