The University of Oklahoma Announces Oklahoma Heads To No. 10 NC State

NORMAN - The No. 15 Oklahoma women's tennis team is set to travel to Raleigh, N.C., and take on No. 10 NC State at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday.

IN THE RANKINGS

NC State currently has four ranked ITA singles players with No. 13 Alana Smith, No. 23 Amelia Rajecki, No. 25 Abigail Rencheli and No. 97 Sophie Abrams. The Wolfpack also features two doubles teams with No. 8 Nell Miller and Amelia Rajecki and No. 60 Sophie Abrams and Abigail Rencheli.


LAST TIME OUT

The Sooners qualified for their second run at the ITA National Indoor championships in Seattle, Wash., after sweeping Texas Tech in the ITA Kickoff Weekend championship match, 4-0.

Carmen and Ivana Corley were first to claim a doubles court, defeating Avelina Sayfetdinova and Metka Komac 6-0 at the top court. Julia Garcia Ruiz and Dana Guzman clinched the opening point on court three with a 6-3 victory over Camryn Stepp and Kate Dmitrichenko.

In singles, Guzman was first to finish on court three, taking down Komac 6-1, 6-1. Following right behind, Emma Staker grabbed the 6-3, 6-1 win over Cristina Tiglea at the No. 4 spot. To send the Sooners to Seattle, No. 86 Alexandra Pisareva defeated Andreea Lila on court six in a 6-2, 6-0 fashion.

OU will make their appearance at ITA National Indoors in Seattle, Wash., on Feb. 10-13. The schedule will be released at a later time.
