MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis Track & Field graduate student Cole Riddle was named American Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

Riddle, a Surprise, Ariz., native, earned the honor after a meet-winning performance in the pole vault at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational. Riddle's AAC-leading mark of 5.58m (18'3.75") was enough to break his own school record that he set on Jan. 21 at the Vanderbilt Invitational. It was a lifetime personal-best clearance for Riddle (indoors and outdoors) and currently ranks No. 8 in the NCAA.

A season ago, Riddle was an AAC Champion in the vault both indoors and outdoors. Before his time at Memphis, Riddle competed for Arizona State University, where he ranks third in program history in pole vault indoors and No. 2 on ASU's outdoor list.

The Tigers are back on the track this weekend in Birmingham, Ala., at the South Alabama Invitational.
