The Prairie View A & M University Announces Douglas Earns SWAC Player of the Week Honors

BIRMINGHAM – Will Douglas was named Player of the Week by the Southwestern Athletic Conference for his performances in last week's conference match-ups against the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Mississippi Valley State.
 
Against UAPB on Saturday, Douglas lifted the Panthers to an 82-71 home victory. The graduate student from Memphis, Tenn. Hit 4-of-8 3-pointers in that game on his way to a career-high 31 points, he also dished out five assists and had eight rebounds.
 
Two days later he scored 14 points and pulled down six rebounds in a win over Mississippi Valley to move the Panthers into a two-way tie for sixth place in the SWAC.
 
For the week Douglas averaged a league-leading 22.5 points per game to go along with 7.0 rebounds per game.  He. shot 47 percent from the field and 39 percent from three-point range during PVAMU's most recent two outings.
 
The Panthers will return to action for their final road trip of the regular season when they face off against the Alcorn State Braves on Saturday, February 25.  Tip-off for the game, which is the second of the afternoon's double-header event is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
