St. Cloud State University announces Fitzgerald Earns NSIC Player of the Week Honors

St. Cloud State softball sophomore infielder Maggie Fitzgerald was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Player of the Week as announced by the league on Monday. Fitzgerald had a stellar weekend for the Huskies at the Washburn Invite on Feb. 26 and Feb. 27 to earn her first NSIC weekly honor in her career.
In three games, Fitzgerald went 6-of-9 while averaging a .667 batting average. Additionally, she owned a on base percentage of .727 while slugging an impressive .889 for the Huskies over the weekend. Fitzgerald blasted six hits through the field driving in five runs with a pair of doubles. Against Nebraska-Kearney, she went a perfect 4-of-4 at the plate bringing in three RBIs.
Fitzgerald and the Huskies will be back in action on Friday, Mar. 3 as the team will travel down to Florida for the annual Spring Games. St. Cloud is set to play Findlay and Rogers State on Mar. 3.
