Southern Utah University announces Softball Adds Transfer Ariyana Miranda from Eastern Kentuck

CEDAR CITY, Utah - Southern Utah University is excited to announce the transfer of standout softball player Ariyana Miranda from Eastern Kentucky. Miranda is set to make an immediate impact on the Southern Utah softball program.

COACH DON DON WILLIAMS SAID

"Ari is an athletic, versatile player that will help us compete on all levels. She brings experience to our team and is highly motivated to elevate our program."

Throughout the 2022 season, Miranda maintained a solid batting average of .234, appearing in 45 games and earning 42 starts. She scored 19 runs, while recording 30 hits. Her ability to hit for extra bases was evident, as she tallied 10 doubles and one triple. Miranda also contributed with a home run and 15 RBIs.

Miranda's performance as a redshirt freshman in 2021 at Eastern Kentucky was outstanding. She appeared in 50 games, earning 48 starts, and posted a .213 batting average with seven home runs, 27 RBIs, and 29 runs scored. Her best game was a 2-for-4 performance with two home runs and four RBIs against Tennessee State.

In 2020, Miranda made her presence felt, starting all 24 games. She finished with a .320 batting average, hitting six doubles, six home runs, and driving in a team-best 23 RBIs. Miranda ranked among the top five in the conference in runs scored, RBIs, doubles, home runs, and total bases.

Prior to her collegiate career, Miranda played four years at Elk Grove High School, earning recognition as a member of the All-Metro First Team in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Her senior year showcased her exceptional skills, contributing to a 21-10 record with a .454 batting average.
