Prairie View A & M University announces Lady Panthers Improved Performances at Pepsi Florida Relays Ranks them high in SWAC
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Prairie View A&M University women's outdoor track and field team completed the Pepsi Florida Relays with outstanding performances that continue to move the Lady Panthers up on the SWAC performance list.
Senior Shelby Devereaux in the women's 1500-meter run put together a great race that resulted in her season's best time of 4:59.26 which places her #6 in the SWAC rankings.
Asjah Harris continues her success in the women's 200m dash where she ran her personal best of 23.83 followed by senior Jada Sabir and junior Sydnee Stewart who were both under the 25-second barrier at 24.86 and 24.95 respectively.
Sophomore Jourdan Garnett rounded out the highlights with her huge personal best in the women's 3000m steeplechase where she finished 6th with her time of 12:29.61 taking more than 20 seconds off her old personal best and putting her #1 on the SWAC performance list.
The Lady Panthers concluded the two-day competition with outstanding performances that continue to move them up the NCAA West Regional lists.
Junior Runelda Jackson made a strong move in the women's 3000m run with three laps to go to secure a first-place finish in a time of 10:33.25. In the women's 1500-meter run, Shelby Devereaux put together a great performance that resulted in her season's best time of 4:59.26 which puts her #6 in the SWAC rankings.
