Oral Roberts University announces Sargent Qualifies for NCAA West First Round

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Oral Roberts' Abraham Sargent has qualified for the 2023 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field West First Round, as announced by the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field and Cross Country Committee Thursday. 

Sargent qualified in the javelin throw with a mark of 65.71 meters, which ranks 29th in the region. This is the the third consecutive year Sargent has advanced to the NCAA West First Round.

The NCAA West First Round is scheduled for May 24-27 at Hornet Stadium in Sacramento, California. The top 12 performers from both the East and West regions will advance to the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which are held from June 7-10 in Austin, Texas.
