Oral Roberts University announces Sargent Breaks Record, #ORUTrack Races at Sooner Invitational

NORMAN, Oklahoma – Abraham Sargent broke his own school record in the javelin throw as the Oral Roberts track and field program competed at the Sooner Invitational at the John Jacobs Track Complex in Norman, Oklahoma. 

News and Notes

• Abraham Sargent won the event for the second straight season with a throw of 65.71 meters, which surpassed his previous program record of 65.14 meters.
• Erik Flores Burciaga claimed the title in the 5000 meter run with a time of 14:44.68, which marked a season-best.
• The junior also picked up a top-five finish in the 1500 meter run with a time of 3:55.62.
• Kevin Jackson placed third in the 100 meter dash with a mark of 10.65.
• In the 400 meter hurdles, Henry Falls recorded a fourth-place finish with a time of 54.19.
• On the women's side, Adrena Mazzei registered two top-five finishes at the Sooner Invite.
• Keithwood Stubbs (long jump), Joyce Nabagereka (shot put) and Elayna Whitley (shot put) all set personal bests in their respective events at the Sooner Invite.
