Ohio University announces Ohio Men's Golf Finishes 8th at Mac Championships With Carson Trafford Placing in Top 10

ATHENS, AL. -- After three days and several windy rounds of competitive golf, the Ohio Bobcats completed the Mid-American Conference Golf Championships in 8th place. Overall the team shot a 900, with Freshman Carson Trafford in the top 10. Carson Trafford comments on the placement, "it feels really good to be top 10 after a long season of hard work. It was nice to see it all finally pay off and having my team there to support me coming off the last hole was a great feeling."Carson Trafford led the Bobcats shooting a 72 in round one, a 75 in round two, and 72 in round three, giving him an overall score of 219. Next for the Bobcats is Jack Neville shooting a 75 in round one, a 74 in round two, and finishing out with a 77 to put him in T27th. Will Kates followed in T35th shooting a 74 in round one, a 75 in round two, and an 80 in round three to give him an overall of 229. Not far behind was Matt Daulton with 230 to put him in T37th. Daulton shot a 76 in round one, an 81 in round two, and 73 in round three. Finishing out for the Bobcats was Sam Hogan shooting a 237 to land him in 42nd place. Daulton grabbed 73 in round one, an 85 in round two, and finished out with 79.
Head Coach Brennan Whitis shares, "it's great that we have the same guys coming back next season, we won't be losing any starters and after this tournament they will be experienced. We have a lot of stuff to build on for next year and we are excited to see what happens."

With the conclusion of the MAC Championship tournament, the Ohio Bobcats have completed their 2022-23 season under Head Coach Brennan Whitis. The Bobcats will return to the tee this coming fall for another chance at the MAC title.
