ATHENS, Ohio— The Ohio baseball team will be represented by six student athletes on a variety of summer collegiate baseball teams. Bobcats are playing on four teams in four leagues, including Athens' own Southern Ohio Copperheads.

Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League

Local to the Great Lakes region, the GLSCL is comprised of 13 teams from Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. Three Bobcats, freshman Billy Adams (Medina, Ohio)— sophomore Adam Beery (Ravenna, Ohio) and senior Trenton Neuer (Nicholasville, Ky.)— will remain in Athens, playing for the Southern Ohio Copperheads at Bob Wren Stadium.

MLB Draft League

Created by Major League Baseball and Prep Baseball Report, the MLB Draft League played its first season in 2021. The league serves as a showcase for top draft-eligible prospects leading up to each summer's MLB draft. Redshirt sophomore AJ Rausch (Powell, Ohio) is set to play for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in Niles, Ohio.

Northwoods League

Founded in 1992, the NWL has four divisions—Great Plains East, Great Plains West, Great Lakes East and Great Lakes West. With 24 teams, they boast being the largest organized baseball league in the world and are expanding even further, pioneering the first collegiate summer softball league in 2024. Sophomore Tyler Peck (Oak Creek, Wis.) is set to pitch for the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders.

Independent Teams

Freshman Owen Williams (Charlotte, N.C.) will be playing for the Uwharrie Wampus Cats during their inaugural season in Albemarle, N.C. The team will take on a variety of independent teams in the area, including but not limited to the Carolina Disco Turkeys, Queen City Corndogs, Race City Bootleggers and Winston-Salem Moravians.
