Ohio Dominican University announces Downs Awarded To NFCA Division II All-Midwest Region First Team

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association released the 2023 NFCA Division II All-Region teams on Wednesday afternoon. Senior Braxton Downs (Louisville, Ky.) added another accolade to her resume this afternoon with being selected to the All-Midwest Region First Team for the second time in her career as a Panther.

The Great Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year has had a stellar senior campaign for the Black and Gold. She leads the conference in runs batted in with 53 and do0ubles with 20. Downs has a season batting average of .396 and has started every game this season at first base. She has eight home runs and is among the top-five in the G-MAC with 67 hits on the season.

Downs and the rest of the Panthers gear up to begin the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Tournament tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 PM against Saginaw Valley State in Allendale, Michigan.
