GREENWOOD, Ind. – Northwestern women's track and field student-athletes Abigail Clarke, Kennedy Kramer, and Jacie Vander Waal have been named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District teams, the CSC office announced this morning.

Clarke (Sr., Waverly, Neb.) completed her Red Raider career with 10 All-Conference marks, while also earning All-American honors in the 4x400m relay in the 2021 indoor season. Most recently, she placed third in both the 400m hurdles and in the 4x400m relay at the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Championships.

Kramer (So., Larchwood, Iowa) has been a consistent runner for Northwestern over the last two seasons, once again competing at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Championships to close out the 2023 season. Previously, she hit a PR mark of 56.51 for a second-place finish at the GPAC Championships and is a member of the Raiders' 4x400m relay squad.

Ending the year with an All-American performance at the NAIA Championships, Vander Waal (So., Sioux Center, Iowa) has excelled in athletics and academics. The second-year jumper hit a personal-best mark of 1.68m for a seventh-place finish at the NAIA Championships, while also winning a GPAC title in the 2023 indoor season.

To be eligible for nomination, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA at his or her current institution. Nominees must have participated in at least 50 percent of their team's regular season matches and are only eligible once they have completed one year at their current institution, being at least a sophomore academically and athletically.

The three athletes will now be placed into a voting pool among NAIA CSC Academic All-District members to be selected for the CSC Academic All-American teams.
