Northwestern College announces Qualifiers Announced for NAIA Women's Track and Field Championships

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Northwestern women's track and field team saw three events qualify for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) outdoor track and field championships, the national office announced on Friday.
Following a second-place finish at the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Championships, Kennedy Kramer (So., Larchwood, Iowa) qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Championships in the 400m for the first time in her career. Her GPAC Championships time of 56.51 marked a career-best.
Jacie Vander Waal (So., Sioux Center, Iowa) is making her second-career NAIA Outdoor Championships appearance in the high jump after finishing 20th (1.59m) in 2022. Vander Waal had a personal best jump of 1.65m on April 1 at the Central Nebraska Challenge.
The third qualifying event for the women is the 4x400m relay. The team of Abigail Clarke (Sr., Waverly, Iowa), Savonne Sterk (Jr., Lynden, Wash.), Emma Blum (Fr., Omaha, Neb.), and Kramer qualified with a time of 3:55.47. Jasmine Lux (Fr., Sanborn, Iowa) will travel as the alternate runner.
The 2023 NAIA Outdoor Championships will be held on May 24-26 in Marion, Indiana, with the Red Raider events being held at the following times (all times CT):
- Women's 400m Semifinals – Thursday, May 25 at 3:00 p.m.
- Women's 4x400m Semifinals – Thursday, May 25 at 7:15 p.m.
- Women's High Jump – Friday, May 26 at 1:00 p.m.
- Women's 400m Finals – Friday, May 26 at 2:30 p.m.
- Women's 4x400m Finals – Friday, May 26 at 4:15 p.m.
