Northwestern College announces Kramer, Clarke, and Vander Waal Lead All-Conference Honors for Raiders

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Following last weekend's Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Championships in Sioux Center, the conference office has officially announced the All-Conference performers, with 12 Raider teams and individuals achieving the honor.


"Our women exceeded the marks they entered the conference championships with," said head coach Scott Bahrke. "We scored about 20 more points than we were predicted to based on the performance lists. It was a true team effort. We earned points from the sprints, distance, hurdles, jumps, vault, and throws. Proud of all of our ladies!"

 

Kramer (So., Larchwood, Iowa) posted a personal best of 56.51 in the 400m, placing second in the event after winning at last year's outdoor championships. Elsewhere in the track events, Clarke (Sr., Waverly, Neb.) earned her third-career All-Conference outdoor 400m hurdles nod, notching her career's highest placement in the event at outdoor championships. Vander Waal (So., Sioux Center, Iowa) followed up her indoor conference title with a solid mark last weekend, hitting a mark of 1.60m for a third-place finish.

 

GPAC ALL-CONFERENCE HONOREES


The conference also honored Nisa Thomas of Hastings for the women's track outstanding performance and Hastings' Kiara Anderson for women's field performance Adriana Rodencal of Concordia (Neb.) was named the women's Outstanding Athlete of the Year, and Concordia head coach Matt Beisel was named GPAC Women's Coach of the Year.

 

Qualifying individuals will travel to Marion, Indiana for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Outdoor Championships on May 24-26.
