Northwestern College announces Engelmann and Post Named to CSC All-District Teams
GREENWOOD, Ind. – Northwestern men's track and field student-athletes Trey Engelmann and Cody Post have been named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District teams, the CSC office announced this morning.
Engelmann (So., Spirit Lake, Iowa) is the owner of five Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) All-Conference performances, including three in the 2022-23 academic year. In addition to his seventh-place individual finish in the 800m at the 2023 GPAC Outdoor Championships, Engelmann qualified for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Championships in the 4x400m relay, running on the 10th-place team. In addition to his work on the track, Engelmann is a two-time NAIA Scholar-Athlete between track and field and cross country.
Post (Sr., Rock Valley, Iowa) had a decorated career in the Red Raider uniform, holding records in the outdoor 4x100m relay and the indoor 200m (oversized track). Additionally, Post is a four-time All-Conference performer and a two-time GPAC Champion. He has been named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete once during his career.
To be eligible for nomination, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA at his or her current institution. Nominees must have participated in at least 50 percent of their team's regular season matches and are only eligible once they have completed one year at their current institution, being at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
Engelmann and Post will now be placed into a voting pool among NAIA CSC Academic All-District members to be selected for the CSC Academic All-American teams.
