New York University announces Softball Team Shutout at Brandeis

The New York University softball team was defeated 6-0 by host Brandeis University in a University Athletic Association (UAA) game on Friday, April 14, in Waltham, MA.

The contest was the first of a four-game series.

NYU starter Marina Egbert held the Judges scoreless until the bottom of the third when she allowed four hits, a walk and hit a batter. After a scoreless fourth, she allowed two more runs in the fifth without retiring a batter.

Jessie Werthman pitched the final two innings and did not allow a hit.  

Egbert had one of the Violets' four hits in the contest. Margaux Lesser, Chloe Blanc and Sophia Leon had the others.

The two teams continue the series with a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 12:00pm.
