Mount St. Mary's University announces Mount Men's Tennis Returns to Maac Play at Home Vs. Rider on Wednesday

MOUNT ST. MARY'S (3-9, 0-2 MAAC) vs. RIDER (5-8, 1-0 MAAC)

MOUNT UPDATE: Mount St. Mary's split a pair of matches last weekend, falling at home to Niagara (6-1) on Sunday before edging Saint Francis U (4-3) on Monday. The Mount's top doubles tandem of Filippos Zachiotis andJarrett Karnibadcontinued their strong season with a pair of wins at No. 1 doubles. The duo has won nine matches in a row and are 16-3 on the season. Andrew Allen provided the winning point in the Mount's 4-3 victory over Saint Francis U. Elliot Stevens won at No. 1 singles to give the Mount it's lone point in the loss to Niagara. Zachiotis leads the Mount with 10 singles victories on the year.
ABOUT RIDER: Rider, 5-8 overall and 1-0 in the MAAC, clipped Fairfield, 4-3, on Sunday in the team's MAAC opener. The Broncs will host Sacred Heart on Tuesday, before traveling to Emmitsburg on Wednesday to take on The Mount. Rider is led by Dhruv Tangri, who has posted a 5-7 record this season in singles play.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. RIDER: The Mount is 11-0 all-time against Rider, with the most recent match a 6-0 on October 19, 2015. The Mountaineers are 6-0 all-time at home against the Broncs. The teams met every season from 2010-15.
UP NEXT: The Mountaineers will travel to Connecticut for a pair of MAAC matches this weekend, visiting Quinnipiac on Saturday, April 1, and Fairfield on Sunday, April 2.
