Morehead State Eagles announces Women's Golf Earns Automatic NCAA Bid; Heading to Westfield, Indiana

MOREHEAD, Ky. – After claiming medalist honors at the OVC Championship and earning the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, women's golf is now headed to Westfield, Ind.
Led by four top-5 finishes, the Eagles carded rounds of 307-303-295—905, and claimed the top spot by 15 strokes over second place finisher Little Rock.
Head coach Stephanie Barker was named OVC Coach of the Year for the second time in her career, and freshman Ruth Tonnessen is just the second golfer in conference history to be named Freshman and Player of the Year, and earn medalist honors in the same season.
The Eagles will tee off May 8-10 at The Club at Chatham Hills. The top five teams from each regional site will advance to play in the National Championship to be played May 19-24 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
