More than 1,000 students explore healthcare careers at annual expo
More than 1,000 students from Waukesha County and the surrounding region attended the Discover Health Care Expo at Waukesha County Technical College on March 3. The event, organized by the Waukesha County Business Alliance, introduced students to a range of careers in health care through interactive activities.
Students engaged with professionals from areas such as patient care, nursing, behavioral health, surgery, ultrasound, and dental services. They practiced CPR, learned about reading x-ray screens, explored nursing career paths, and received nutrition education. Many observed blood donation procedures and spoke directly with industry experts.
The expo is part of the alliance’s ongoing efforts to develop the local workforce and strengthen the region’s talent pipeline. The organization partners with educators, employers, and post-secondary institutions to help students understand local career options and gain relevant skills.
