Milwaukee School of Engineering announces Smid Named Latest Raider of the Week

MILWAUKEE – Team championships often have great individual performances tied to them which is why men's tennis student-athlete Jachym Smid has been named the latest Ian's Pizza Raider of the Week.
Smid played in and finished all six matches he appeared in during the NACC tournament. The junior had three matches from the second doubles spot and another three from the sixth singles position. Smid and his partner Joe Chong won 8-0 over sixth seeded Concordia Chicago, 8-3 over second seeded St. Norbert, and 8-6 over top seeded Illinois Tech. He proceeded to grab 6-0, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-1 wins over CUC and SNC respectively while he helped the Raiders clinch the league title with a 6-2, 6-2 victory against IIT.
The Raiders will continue their season in Saint Peters, Minn. when they take on UW-Whitewater in a NCAA regional first round matchup on Friday at 10:00 am
