Milwaukee School of Engineering announces Smid Earns First Weekly Nacc Award

MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee School of Engineering junior Jachym Smid (Prague, Czech Republic) has been named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of April 24-30, 2023, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.
Smid, a junior, had a dominant week for the Raiders as MSOE won its first NACC Tournament championship with wins over Concordia Chicago, St. Norbert, and Illinois Tech. He completed each of his matches, posting a 3-0 mark at No. 6 singles, while pairing with Joe Chong for three wins at No. 2 doubles.
Smid hopes to keep the win streak alive as the Raiders will continue their season in Saint Peters, Minn. when they take on UW-Whitewater in a NCAA regional first round matchup on Friday at 10:00 am.
