Milwaukee School of Engineering announces Raiders Split Weekend Matches

STEVENS POINT, Wis. / CHICAGO – The MSOE men's tennis team split their weekend roadtrip with an impressive performance taking on the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point before a narrow loss to Rose-Hulman.

RESULT

MSOE RAIDERS – 6UW-Stevens Point – 3

MSOE RAIDERS – 4Rose-Hulman - 5

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • UW-Stevens Point
    • Dominance was shown during singles play as after a loss at the No. 1 spot, it was all MSOE (4-8) as they won the rest of the singles, including a runaway 6-1 6-2 win from Alex Nakasato at the No. 3 singles.
    • UW-Stevens Point (7-10) came away with winning two of the doubles matches, but Miquel Lopez and Clark Rue held things down at the No. 2 doubles with an 8-4 win.
  • Rose-Hulman
    • Lopez and Rue were victories yet again in doubles play against Rose-Hulman (5-4) winning 8-4, along with Nakasato and Josh Fay winning the No. 3 doubles 8-6.
    • The Engineers however really pulled away with their singles play, winning the top four matches. Emillo Ulloa picked up the victory for the Raiders in the No. 5 singles (6-3 6-2), as Jachym Smid was dominant in the No. 6 singles winning 6-4 6-0.

WHO'S ON DECK

The Raiders will return to home court as they will host Edgewood College next Saturday, March 18th at 8:30 AM, followed by Marian University the next day at 8:30 AM as well.
