Millersville University announces Marauders sit in fifth after day one of PSAC Championship
KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Millersville women's golf team battled poor conditions to place fifth through the first day of the PSAC Championship tournament.
The Marauders carded a team score of 66-over-par and sit 33 strokes behind Gannon who leads at 33-over-par. California (Pa.) (+43) West Chester (+62) and Mercyhurst (+62) round of the remainder of the top five.
Weather is expected to remain a considerable factor throughout the weekend with forecasts calling for continued rain.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Senior Amanda Steier led 'Ville as she tied for fifth and shot nine-over-par to card an 81. Steier put together a consistent round that saw her birdie the ninth and 12th holes while recording no worse than a bogey on any hole. She sits five strokes behind Keegan Selinsky of Cal (Pa.) who leads the individual standings at four-over-par.
- Taylor Hileman was the next Marauder finisher as she tied for 10th while shooting 13-over-par. The junior shot just five-over-par on the front nine on her way to carding an 85. She led the team with nine pars on the day.
- Charley Kirby tied for 29th as she carded a 20-over-par. She performed better on the back nine, shooting nine-over-par and finished her round with her lone par of the day.
- Emma Schotsch and Amanda Wolf tied for 37th after the pair of sophomores each carded a 96 to shoot 24-over-par. They both recorded three pars on the day.
