Millersville University announces Marauders open up competition at NCAA Super Regional
LEBANON, Pa. – The Millersville men's golf team finished their first day of competition at the NCAA Atlantic/East Region Championships, hosted by Iron Valley Golf Course. The Marauders ended the day tied for 13th place with Post University with a team score of 311.
Millersville's No. 1 player, Bobby Lugiano, paced the Marauder squad with a score of 74. Lugiano is tied with five other golfers for 17th place with their 2-over par finish.
Carl Ernst and Ty Morral both shot 6-over par on the day to finish with a score of 78. Ernst made par on 11 of the 18 holes and Morral made par on six holes, including a birdie on hole two. The Marauders No. 2 player, Noah Keener ended with a score of 81 and Christopher Knox finished round one 11-over par.
Adelphi University currently leads the tournament with a team score of 297. Contributing to Adelphi's finish was Alec Ramos who was just 1-over par and Franics Lanuza who finished with a score of 72.
St. Thomas Aquinas' Donte Groppuso led all players with an impressive finish of 69. Groppuso made par on nine holes and made birdie on six holes.
Day two of the tournament continues Friday, May 12 at 7:30 a.m. Morral will start the Marauders at 10 a.m. as he is paired with Virginia Union's Ahmad Reedus and Goldey-Beacom's Mason Kucy.
