Millersville University announces Four Marauders named to the CSC Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - Four Millersville student-athletes were recognized to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Division II Academic All‐District® Women's At-Large Team. The Marauders' honorees include two field hockey players, one member from lacrosse, and one from women's golf. This is the first CSC Academic All-District recognition for the four Marauders.

To be recognized as Academic All-District®, student-athletes must hold a GPA of 3.50 or higher and play in 50% of the team's games. 

Georgia Werkiser and Caroline Griffin represent the Millersville field hockey team as the two honorees. 
 
Graduate student, Werkiser, owns a 3.93 GPA in sports management with a concentration in athletic administration. The midfielder was named NFHCA All-America First Team, Synapse Sports All-America Second Team, and All-PSAC First Team during the 2022 season. Werkiser was a two-time team captain and was one of six players to start in all 21 games and played nearly 1,000 minutes. 
 
Griffin holds a 3.77 GPA as a sports administration major. The defender earned All-PSAC Third Team recognition during the 2022 season after starting in all 21 games and helping the team rank fifth in Division II in goals against average. 
 
Women's lacrosse player, Taiyana Goldsborough, earned a 3.74 GPA as a major in government, policy, and law with a minor in public relations. The senior was the lone Marauder to earn All-PSAC East First Team during the 2023 season for her play in the defensive end. Goldsborough started in every game for Millersville in her senior season and finished her career with 116 ground balls. She ranked first on the team in caused turnovers (19) and was ranked fourth in the PSAC in ground balls per game with a 2.94 avg.
 
Amanda Wolf represents the women's golf team as she boasts a 3.99 GPA, majoring in english secondary education with a concentration in ESL/linguistics. The sophomore competed in all 13 tournaments with a scoring average of 88.6 through 18 rounds. Wolf was recognized as a PSAC Scholar Athlete and a WGCA All-America Scholar in 2022. 
 
Academic All‐District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All‐America® ballot. First‐, second and third‐team Academic All‐America® honorees will be announced June 22.
