Mid-Atlantic Christian University announces MACU Stuns Carolina University
MACU wins game 1 by the final score of 7-6. Such an exciting game all the way until the last pitch. MACU scores 5 runs in the ninth ALL WITH TWO OUTS ! The Mustangs had struggled most of the day stringing hits together which resulted in having only two runs going into the ninth.
Carolina lead 3-2 going into the ninth. CU then scored 3 runs in the top of the ninth seeming to put the game away. The Bruins got two quick outs. Then a walk, base hit, walk, base hit got 1 run across for the Mustangs but still left the bases loaded. With the Mustangs trailing by 3 runs, Caleb Whitley came to the plate. He drove a ball to right field, the right fielder dove to make the play and missed it. This then allowed all 3 runs to score and Caleb recording a triple on the play. Then Gio Mendez stepped up to the plate, drove a single back up the middle allowing Caleb to score the winning run!
