Mid-Atlantic Christian University is announcing the departure of head baseball coach Michael Louis. Coach Louis is moving to Toledo, Ohio due to his wife being re-stationed there by the US Coast Guard.  During his tenure at MACU, Coach Louis accrued 62 wins over three seasons.

Coach Louis brought an exciting brand of baseball to the University with aggressive baserunning and high production up and down the lineup.  The Mustangs led the USCAA in stolen bases with 147 this season and 104 last season.  In his tenure, MACU had 14 guys hit over .300 and averaged 315 runs per season. He recruited talented players that achieved 7 All-American selections and 3 National All-Academic honors.  His efforts have solidified the program through increased retention and a commitment to the player experience.  Louis did this by keeping the program focused on his 3 C's: character, commitment, and communication.Coach Louis quotes: "I want to thank MACU for allowing me get my collegiate head coaching start.  It is something I will be forever grateful for. Just to see where this program started 4 years ago to where it is now is just astonishing.""I am really going to miss this place. This place will always have a special place in my heart with the way everyone accepted my family into the university and the community.""There are so many great memories for me here. My favorite memory being, beating Salem in the quarterfinals at the National Tournament.""I am leaving Elizabeth City better than I found it" "I didn't just recruit players, I recruited lifelong family members"

Athletics Director Andy Meneely had this to say, "It is never easy to lose a coach like Coach Louis. He understood all the different facets of developing a successful program on and off the field. The family atmosphere that we instilled in the team was exactly what this program needed to get off the ground. We are excited for his family and their new opportunity that the Coast Guard is taking them to.  We wish Coach and his family the best."
