Mid-America Christian University announces Softball Leads NAIA with 18 Garnering Scholar-Athlete Honors

 KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its 2023 Daktronics Softball Scholar-Athletes on Wednesday as the MACU softball team produced the most academically excellent program in the nation, leading the NAIA with 18 student-athletes earning the esteemed accolade.

Mid-America Christian produced by far and away the most student-athletes of any other program in the NAIA as Iowa Wesleyan and Grand View (Iowa) finished with the second-most with 15.

In order to be eligible for NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average, appear on the NAIA eligibility certificate and have completed one full academic year at the nominating institution.

Overall, 1,131 softball athletes received scholar-athlete honors amongst the 206 NAIA institutions.
