GREENVILLE, S.C. – Redshirt sophomore pitcher Rachel Eggleston joined some elite company as the MACU softball ace earned NCCAA All-America First Team honors for the 2023 season.

The Kiowa, Oklahoma native is notching her second NCCAA All-American honor after garnering First Team acclaim in 2022. Eggleston is just the second MACU softball player in program history to become a multi-time All-American, joining former teammate Regan Martin who tallied First Team accolades in 2019 and 2021 and a Second Team award in 2018.

Eggleston put together one of the best seasons in program history for a MACU pitcher, as her 21 wins and 0.92 WHIP broke Katie Long's 2021 single-season records of 19 wins and 0.93 WHIP, her seven shutouts tied Regan Martin's 2019 record mark and also posted the second-lowest ERA (1.52) and second-most strikeouts (166) in a year.

Her best outing of the season came in a high-profile matchup against No. 9 Science & Arts at Allen Field on Apr. 8 as she tossed a nine-inning, one-hit shutout in leading the Evangels to a 1-0 walk-off win over a Drovers team that advanced all the way to the NAIA National Championships final site.

On-top of garnering All-America accolades, Eggleston was selected as an All-SAC First Team performer and was an NCCAA All-Central Region selection for the second straight year.
