Methodist University announces Some Top-Five Placements for the Monarchs

GREENSBORO, N.C.  A hand full of members from the Methodist University men's and women's track & field teams participated in the 2023 Aggie Classic on Friday.

TOP PERFORMANCES

• The Monarchs had two athletes that finished third and fourth, respectively, in the men's discus. Nick Wiggins had the longest throw, 39.64 meters, of all Division-III competitors while teammate Shomare Hazley was right behind him with a 38.11m toss. Both of these are also new personal records for the two of them.
• Placing in the top-five, out of 16, for the men's 1,500-meter race was Drew Topoly with a time of four minutes 4.39 seconds.
• Rebecca McGaughnea was the final athlete to compete today as she took part in the women's discus. Her best throw traveled 23.75m, which put her in 22nd overall.

NEXT UP
Methodist looks towards the upcoming 2023 USA South Men's & Women's Track and Field Outdoor Championships. The event will take place at Brevard College on April 27 & 28.
