Methodist University announces Monarchs Finish First Day in Mount Olive

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C.  The Methodist track and field teams had a handful of competitors at the first day of the Adidas Trojan Challenge on Friday. Only field events were held on the first day.

OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES

• Freshman Logan Williams was the top Methodist finisher in the men's javelin throw with a solid distance of 39.46 meters – good enough for fifth place among the competition. Finishing next in line was Komla Akogo with a throw of 38.73 meters.
• Jordan Pecorella was the top Methodist finisher in the women's hammer throw, tossing it a distance of 28.02 meters.
• Methodist's best finisher in the men's hammer throw was Nick Wiggins with a throw of 34.45 meters.

The Adidas Trojan Challenge continues Saturday as the track events are added into the mix for a full day of action.
