Mercer University announces Bears Complete Comeback Against Wofford

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Mercer men's tennis program (10-11, 4-1) earned its third-straight win with a 4-3 victory over Wofford (5-14, 1-5) in a match which lasted three hours and 13 minutes on Tuesday afternoon. The Terriers took a 2-0 lead to open the match, but the Bears won four of the last five points to secure the win thanks to a persistent effort by Marceau Foulihoux while fighting major cramping.
 
Mercer nearly won the doubles point after Nemanja Stefanovic and Foulihoux won 7-5 on court three over Max Graham and Ashe Ray. With each team holding a doubles win, Samuel Barrow and Andrew Branicki fell in a tiebreak on court two to Alex Horn and Robbie Young to solidify the doubles point for Wofford.
 
Wofford extended its lead with a singles win on court six, but Mercer responded strongly. Samuel MacLeod took the first point for the Bears, beating Max Graham 6-2, 6-2 on court five. The score was tied after Stefanovic won on court three over Will Fullett 6-2, 6-4.

gave Mercer its first lead of the day with a victory on court two against Young. Dini won the first set by a commanding 6-1 score. He dropped the second set 6-3 but responded by winning the first three games of the third set en route to a 6-1 win.
 
Wofford tied the score at 3-3 with a win on court one, leaving the match to be decided on court four.
 
Foulihoux fell in the first set 6-2 to Horn and was behind 4-1 in the second set but fought back to be down only one game at 5-4. He won the next three games to take the second set, 7-5. The sophomore won the opening three games of the third set before severe cramping hindered his efforts. Horn brought the score back to 4-3 in favor of Foulihoux. Foulihoux battled through the final few games to emerge victorious 6-3 in the final set to clinch the match for Mercer.
