Martin Luther College announces Women's Track Takes Second After Day One of UMAC Championships
RESULTS
Morris, MN - The Martin Luther College women finished day one of the UMAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships in second place with a total of 71 points. The Knights ended the day only behind UW-Superior, who racked up 89 points.
Ally Platzer had another stellar performance in the pole vault, taking first with a top jump of 2.75 meters. With that jump, the senior went and broke her previous record in the event of 2.70 meters, which she had last Friday at the Morris field meet.
Erika Gosch would go on to take second in the javelin throw, coming in at 34.51 meters, to give her team 8 points.
Maya Habben continued to excel in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 12:34.27, which was good enough to give her second place. Meanwhile, the Knights gained two top performances in the 400 meter hurdles, with Emma Nelson taking second (1:11.96) and Naomi Foley earning fourth with a time of 1:19.59. Foley also took fourth in the 800 meter run with her time of 2:27.51.

The Knights will conclude their season with day two of the UMAC championships tomorrow, May 6, where they will look to make ground on UW-Superior to receive first place in the team competition.
